Equipment

  • 1 blender
  • 1 ice cube tray

Ingredients

Ginger Turmeric Cubes

  • 2 ounces fresh ginger peeled and grated
  • 2 ounces fresh turmeric peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Golden Milk

  • 1 ginger turmeric cube
  • Pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons sweetener of choice I like honey or maple syrup
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups nut milk or half water and half nut milk

Instructions

Ginger Turmeric Cubes

  • In the carafe of a high speed blender, add the ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and water. Blend until very smooth.
  • Pour evenly into an ice cube mold and freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.
  • Pop out the cubes and store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Golden Milk

  • To an electric milk frother or in a small saucepan on the stove over medium-low heat, add 1 ginger turmeric cube, cinnamon, sweetener of choice, and nut milk.
  • Turn the frother on and allow to heat and froth the drink until very hot. If using a saucepan, allow to heat until the cube has dissolves. Stir everything to combine. Whisk vigorously if you want to make the drink frothy. Pour into a mug and serve.

Notes

Optional mix-ins for Golden Milk:
  • Adding other spices or extracts like vanilla or ground cardamom is also delicious.
  • Coconut oil is another addition we also love to add as a healthy fat that gives extra creaminess to the latte.
  • You can make this iced as well, just make the drink per the recipe and pour over ice in a mug.
