Coffee and Running
Explaining running to non runners.
When trying to explain this crazy addiction known as the running bug that I cought a couple years ago, I always refer back to a morning cup of coffee.
You wake up and drink your coffee, because who doesn’t. Some like it dark, some sweet, maybe sweet and creamy. Many ways to have it. But you have it- oh and if you don’t have it, your moody, cranky, tired, forgetful. You feel blahhh, sort of in a fog.
Running is my cup of joe. Some days I require speed work, others, recovery runs, maybe even cross training- I call that my tea-you have it because you know it’s good for you, but in reality you really want coffee. It’s routine, you stop thinking about it, and you just do it. Rain, snow-no matter the conditions you get it done because you know you’ll be a happier person the rest of the day. I once read an article in a fitness magazine way back and it really resonated with me. It read- take 30 minutes out of your whole day and just do something to move your body whatever you enjoy, and just do it. You’ll never regret it, your whole day will feel brighter happier and more accomplished. I hope this inspired you to get moving and set some goals for yourself because everyone deserves to feel that “runners high”.
Ohhh and I bought myself a little early birthday present (April 21) 🙂 little motivation to look at every morning as I lace up.
I was in the buying mood! And I feel like I need to scream on the top of my lungs and tell everyone about this new gadget. it has changed the way I foam roll or shall I say not foam roll forever! The R8 roll recovery like a deep tissue massage getting all the knots and right muscles loosened up without rolling all over the floor. You can do this while watching tv! A little pricey but worth every penny. Over the moon happy with this product. Plus saving major bucks on massages!

Ahhhhhh morning coffee. All day coffee. Running! Were you always athletic as a kid? And just decided to run? I’ve never been athletic hence the reasons I probably have injuries on my feet and legs since I started running 1.5 years ago. Love it but I’ve been unable to run for months now =(
